Experiences Working in Office or Related Roles

Whether an office leader, a sole proprietor, or an ardent general member of an office team, allow the Planet Faculty editor to give you insight on these experiences of working in such roles.

A Small Office for Lead Generation and Liaison with Creditors

Let me tell you about how I worked in an office to generate leads for a debt management company. I operated outbound calls to liason with potential customers. The office was of a private company. The job required understanding the legal implications of debt and money. The job was related to customer personal finances.

The office had a small team so each person in that office had a very important role. The office consisted of the leader and specialist, the co-ordinator, the secretary, and me, the outbound caller, and lead generator.

It was up to me to handle each outbound call on my own initiative and tend to each potential customer's worries about their debt situation whilst asking them relevant questions, being helpful, and collecting and deciding upon collected information.

From that point, I was required to enlist each new customer onto the debt management program and our office and team would manage each customer's finances and liaise with the vast array of creditors that there may be for many enlisted customers.

I ensured accuracy by using office software. Accuracy is important for the consumer or customer. The project required me as the outbound caller, to convert potential leads into actual leads, and identify if each potential customer qualifies for the financial product.

This role is only one example of how I could work with, and identify, facts anomalies, and figures.

Customer data needed to be calculated, and spreadsheets were useful for this, but the spreadsheet alone could not be used without understanding what is being calculated, how it adds up, and other factors that needed to be accurately understood on order to identify which figures could be included in the calculation and why.

The accuracy needed was not merely of numerical figures, but of understanding. Accurate understanding of the credit industry, and how it operates.

It was necessary to accurately understand what happens when a customer defaults on a debt and what the present situation may be for each individual debt balance.

Co-leading a Local Political Party

In 2023, I was working as a co-leader of a local political party. The role meant regularly attending meetings and listening to each person in discussions. I needed to input ideas wherever possible and give each co-member a sense of direction.

I needed to respond to emails regularly and contact local members, whether or not they had attended to face to face meetings, as members were widespread locally and there were opportunities to collaborate on ideas.

In joining this local political party, it was required to engage with main party members nationwide, and so, I utilised social media for this and searched the web for information to include in discussions locally.

In doing so I was able to expand on ideas that were being discussed by former members and members who had already been in the local party and discussion groups, for an extended period of time.

In co-ordinating group efforts, it was important to discuss critical documents and ensure that each person knew where they stand with roles, contribution, and focus.

Building a New Action Based Website

My town has been suffering and crime has been rife with active anti-social groups honing the local area and creating pressures for locals, invading privacy, harassing, and diminishing community spirit and knowledge.

A solution was within public awareness that somebody could produce a new local website with a name that had a ring to it. I kept the idea in mind and stuck to my usual priorities. After an amount of time had passed and the anti-social problems had escalated, along with a failure of the standard solutions and procedures, I set about producing and informative website on the spur.

The website is now listed online in business media and is highly structured. In creating the website, I selected a professional internet domain name and set up an email account. The website encourages others to fill in a contact form and contribute as additional authors of the website and its articles.

The website successfully addresses disputes, and insubordinate behaviour, whilst simultaneously, providing information to local people about multiple categories of relevant local information.
